Plot Summary
Saru (Mawra Hocane) is a simple and religious girl who lives with her strict parents. She is rejected by many suitors for her plain looks and conservative demeanor. She decides to get a makeover to impress her crush Abhimanyu (Anurag Sinha), who is getting married soon. She reaches out to her neighbor Inder (Harshvardhan Rane), a brooding and rebellious lawyer who lives alone in a messy apartment. Inder agrees to help her, but warns her that he is not a good person and that she should stay away from him.
Inder takes Saru to a salon, where she gets a new hairstyle and wardrobe. He also teaches her how to be confident and assertive. Saru's parents see her new look and assume that she has eloped with Inder. They disown her and throw her out of the house. Saru has nowhere to go, so Inder lets her stay in his apartment until she finds a place of her own. He also helps her get a job at his friend's company.
Saru and Inder gradually become friends and develop feelings for each other. However, they do not express their love due to their fear of losing each other. Saru also learns that Inder has a terminal illness and does not have much time left to live. She decides to fulfill his wishes before he dies, such as taking him to his estranged father's funeral, reconciling him with his childhood friend Jayaram (Manish Chaudhary), and getting him married to her.
On the day of their wedding, Saru collapses due to a brain tumor that she had ignored for a long time. She is rushed to the hospital, where she undergoes surgery. Inder prays for her recovery and promises to be with her forever. Saru survives the surgery, but loses her memory. She does not recognize Inder or anyone else. Inder is heartbroken, but decides to let her go for her happiness. He leaves a letter for her, explaining their story and asking her to remember him.
Two years later, Saru is living with Abhimanyu, who is now her husband. She has regained some of her memory, but not of Inder. She feels restless and unhappy in her marriage. She finds Inder's letter in her old belongings and reads it. She realizes that he is her true love and runs to find him. She reaches his apartment, where she sees him lying on the floor, unconscious. She calls for help and revives him with CPR. He opens his eyes and sees her smiling at him. He says "I love you" and hugs her. They are finally reunited.
